The scattered brain running blog

before the tybee 1/2

Two days after I ran the tybee half marathon with my v5f’s and my calves still hurt and I have blisters on the bottoms of my feet at the heels and the balls of the feet.  It kind of sucks.

I hit the gym after work and did more talking than lifting.  That’s never good.  I did manage to squeeze in 4 sets of bench, 3 sets of military, 4 sets of dumbell curls, 3 sets of lateral raises, 5 sets of leg press and several other exercises but it took me over an hour to do this because I just ran my mouth about the tybee half marathon experience as well as the future of me running with the vibram 5 fingers.  Also talked about the prayer flag project.

God bless Texas

Speaking of the prayer flag project there are now two in Savannah.  The first is at the end of the rails to trails, of course.  The other is a mystery.  The other prayer flag project location is called the prayer flag annex and its for me to know and you to find out.  So, go find it.  When you find it hang a prayer flag for me, please.  And, I’ll hang a prayer flag for you.  Cool?  Cool.

After I left the gym I went the grocery store, bought some milk, oj, cereal, a pound of almonds, a five pound basket of clementines and almost bought some eggs but they all looked like crap.  I also bought a lottery ticket at the grocery store.  I think I bought the only winning lottery ticket for Tuesday’s drawing.  So, I’ll have $32 million some time this week.  That should be cool.  I think I’ll buy a pair of vibram 5 fingers for each day of the week.

I hit the gym today without my v5f’s.  Instead, I worked out with my mizunos.  It felt weird to exercise without the v5f’s.  I’m really getting hooked on these 5 fingers.  That’s weird.  I met a fellow 5 fingerer at the gym and we talked about the 5 finger experience – how cool it is.  My whole world is turning into this 5 finger experience.  I cannot seem to get away from the 5 fingers.  What’s going on?  The world’s going mad, I tell you.

Any way, I did not work out with the 5 fingers because #1, I have bad blisters on my feet (as I mentioned before and, #2, because my 5 fingers stink like the lowest pit of hell.  Yes, they do.  They smell like dirty socks and dirty armpits and an unbathed homeless person – all combined.  They are nasty.  I don’t know how they ever got to that point where they stink so much but they do.  I thought it was other people around me that were smelling bad but I discovered quickly that it was my nasty 5 fingers.  How does that happen?  The advertisement said that the v5f’s have some kind of anti-stink chemical or something on them.  That’s hog wash.  Mine stink to high heaven.  I’m suing!

So, I have to wash my 5 fingers because they stink like an clogged up toilet at work.

barefoot ellipticalling

When I did get home I did jump on my elliptical in my bare feet and squeezed out 31 minutes on that before my feet could tolerate it no more.  The blisters on my heels burst and that was all she wrote.  I got off the elliptical and said, “no mas”.  I ate a bowl of cereal with 2 clementines and two bananas and two glasses of bare foot pinot noir.  Today, seemed to be a day of two’s, it would seem.

I hope that my feet feel better tomorrow because I am really itching to run – smelly 5 fingers and all.

Ok, thanks for taking the time to read my somewhat of a running blog.  I’m sorry, I’m just not with it this evening.  I’m tired and I just want to go bed.  I just had a drink about an hour ago and it went straight to my…head…or….brain?  I cannot remember the rest of the song.

Tomorrow, I’m going to show you how to make a jambalaya like the one I made this weekend.  So, stayed tuned.  Tomorrow will be special.  I will be sharing with you a running blog/jambalaya making blog experience extraordinaire!

btw, we had frost this morning.

Ok, one last picture.  I leave you with a pic of me by Tupac’s car…

Oh, what the heck, here’s an art exhibit I saw at the dairy farm.  The dairy farm is becoming so artsy…
