Sunday Run at the Cemeteries

Running in Bonaventure Cemetery

I ran 6.2 miles through Bonaventure and Greenwich cemeteries on this beautiful, cool Sunday afternoon.  As has been the case this past week, I was again a little stiff and clunky for the first few miles.  By the time I began to loosen up and fall into my groove the burps and other noises from my stomach began to surface.  With every belch I could taste yesterday’s leftover paella which I ate about thirty minutes before my run.  Not a smart thing to have done.

All in all, though, it was a good run.  My pace was a planned 7:50/mile.

Running in Greenwich Cemetery

Next Saturday, I’m doing the seacrest preservation whatchamacallit 10k.  I’m excited about that race.  That will be the last race I do before my trip to Tanzania.  I hope to finish that 10k in forty minutes or less.  We’ll see.

I’m not going to do any long runs again until I return from Tanzania.  I do not want to risk any injuries.  So, from now until my departure to Kilimanjaro six to seven mile runs will be the longest I’ll run.  After I come back, you better hold onto your butts because I’m going after an ultra.  I want to do a 50 miler this summer.

Wildlife inventory:

  • 1 red cardinal (female)
  • 1 mocking bird
  • 1 pelican (with a white head – it was like a bald eagle pelican). Can you imagine if those two species bred?  Oh boy.
  • 1 flock of sparrows (not seagulls).
  • 2 blue jays
  • 1 dog
  • 1 cat

What else? Hm.

Ok, I think that’s it for now.

Thanks for stopping by.

All the best to you and yours.

peace,
