Yesterday I felt very run down. I was convinced that I was coming down with something pretty serious. At 6:00am yesterday I sent an email to my boss and my coworkers letting them know that I would not be coming in. I slept until 2:30pm. By 6:00pm, I felt good. So, I went to the gym and lifted weights.
Today, I felt great! Whatever bug was trying to bring me down failed miserably. After work, I ran 8.88 miles. It was a very enjoyable run despite the chafing on my inner thighs, a little too close for comfort to my privates. Also, it appeared that we were going to get a torrential downpour this evening after work. As I sat by the window at the Island’s Y stretching and looking out the window, I wondered if and when the bottom was going to fall out. The clouds were looking pretty ominous.
So, I had a very nice stretch session at the Y. I really gave my hamstrings, glutes, quadriceps and calves a good stretching. I also knocked out a hundred pushups and killed my abs. As I stretched and exercised I kept peering out the window seeing if it was raining.
You are never going to believe this but I’ll tell you any way. Just as I am writing this blog entry my new kitten, Lyza, knocked over my beer all over the desk. I just had to clean everything. Thanks, Lyza! My home office smells like beer! Great. Sheesh.
Back to the Island’s Y. The rain never came.
Wildlife Inventory:
- 1 tern
- 1 grackle
- 1 robin
- 9 dogs
I started my run on the Y’s scenic trail. I followed it South into the new Y’s trail and then headed North to Bryan Woods and then highway 80. I cruised East on hwy 80.
You know, this crazy cat keeps trying to drink my beer! I’m trying to type out tonight’s running blog but she keeps going for the beer. What a little lush! You may wonder why I have this little cat on my desk. The reason is that I have to keep an eye on her and on my other critters that want to eat her. Mr. Gypsy is becoming a little more tolerant of Lyza but will occasionally lunge at her. My other cat, Texas, just hates little Lyza. There’s just no going around it. Texas will have nothing to do with Lyza. At least, Mr. Gypsy will sniff her all over and then sneeze on her face.
Back to highway 80. I cruised highway 80 until Quarterman Drive, I turned left. I followed Quarterman until it ended at the manatee mailbox. I then cruised back, crossed highway 80 and continued Quarterman on the other side of hwy 80 until it ended at Johnny Mercer Drive. I then turned around and when I got to highway 80 I headed West on it until I went over that big bridge again and then turned left onto Bryan Woods and traced my steps back to the Island’s Y.
If you check out my mapped run you will see that I ran a “cross”. I’m going to start doing art with my runs. Just as the Incas did their crop circles I’m going to start doing my run circles. People from all over the world will come to Savannah to see my crop runs. It’ll be so cool.
The temperature tonight was a very pleasant 72 degrees with humidity at 52%.
Again, I ran with my calf sleeves, showing them off to the whole world on Wilmington Island. Anyone who laughed at me, I just knocked them out, just like momma said.
- my mapped run
- my logged run
- Bikilas mileage total: 329.87
Ok, That’s it for now. This little cat is driving me crazy. Nothing is safe on my desk! I better go before she destroys my office.
Many thanks for stopping by.
All the very best to you and yours.
peace,
