Some days I just don’t feel the love when running. Today was one of those days. I did 5.3 miles but it seemed more like a chore than a joy run. I did get to see a whole pizza splattered on the Thunderbolt bridge. That brought a little joy to me but not much. I just wasn’t feeling it today and I thought that running a few miles would turn my mood around but it did not. I’m drinking a beer now. That does make me feel better.
Also, as I ran my eyes would suddenly burn momentarily. It was as if I ran through a thin mist of pepper spray. It would kind of waft onto my eyes and then go away leaving me rubbing my eyes with both hands trying to get the burn out. Just as quickly as I felt the burn it would begin quickly to dissipate. This happened four times during the run. And, every time it would happen I would scan the heavens to see if an airplane or helicopter were flying by spraying bug spray. It sucked big time.

Tonight, I simply ran my neighborhood. I ran across the Thunderbolt bridge and then back. I ran to the Wilmington River pier and then worked my way back to the house. As soon as I got home I jumped in the shower because I felt not just hot but grungy and uncomfortable. At least, I’m drinking a beer now. That does make me feel better.
So, today running today was a chore. It should never feel like that.

I did manage to get a couple of cool sunset shots on the thunderbolt bridge.
I’m glad that I ran even if it was not a blast of a run.
I’m finishing up my Corona Light, though. So, life is good.
God bless America.
Thank you so very much for stopping by.
All the very best to you and yours.
