The countdown continues. Now, there are just 8 more days until I attempt the attemptable, run 100 miles in less than 24 hours during the Delirium 24 Hour Race. So, my painstaking training continues. Tonight, I ran a relentless 7.19 miles. That was like 92.81 miles from reaching my goal. So close but yet so far!
So, where do I go from here? Well, I do not know.
What I do know is that I ran those 7.19 miles in my brand-spanking new New Balance Road Minimus. Running in those shoes was like running on warm butter, -smooth and delicious. I loved it. I must give a big thank you to Hillary at Fleet Feet Savannah for recommending & steering me to these awesome shoes. I may very well do the entire delirium in these shoes. No, I won’t. They are very comfortable and very light with little to no drop between heel and forefoot.
At first, I really was not much into running this evening especially outside since I had been feeling a little nauseated most of the day. But, I knew that I had to run for two reasons.
- My friend, Sarah, is in town and I had made plans to run with her this evening (when it wasn’t so dang cold).
- I’m making myself run every day until Friday, February 8th.
Sarah and I decided to run at the Rails to Trails. It was very chilly and windy out there but you do what you gotta do, right? That’s what Elvis P. would of done. So, off we went and ran outside. In the cold… And, it was good.
Sarah has never run the r2t and so, never had the opportunity to visit the prayer flag project since it’s at the end of the r2t. We made it to the end of the trail and Sarah got to see the prayer flag project for the very first time. So, tonight’s run was very special.
We ran back in the cold. We saw two ladies and two dogs.
Sarah ran the r2t and experienced the prayer flag project in person. Life is good.
Thanks for stopping by.
