Dan - really nice recap! I ran it as well and had the same impression. I thought it was a great race and intend to do it again this year. Enjoyed the blog!

Hi Timothy,
Thanks for posting the modified dairy farm sofa picture on Savannah Running. I like that quote! It goes quite well with that picture too!

If you make it back down to Savannah for another race we'll have to meet in person and do a run together.
Hope your running is going well and that 2012 is shaping up as a great year for you and yours!
peace.

I saw you photo of the blue couch in the dairy farm. I call it SwampSofa. I have it as the background on one of my laptops.

So, on Wednesday I was at the orthopedist's getting my shoulder looked at after rotator cuff surgery (last Friday). While I was waiting I was looking at the latest edition of Baltimore Magazine he had on the rack ... April 2011 ... at least it was less than a year old. There was an article about a couple whose garden was especially fabulous blah, blah blah.

There was a pull quote that made me immediately think of your couch-in-the-swamp picture.

"You buy a sofa and it just sits there, but a garden will always bring you pleasure."

I made my own "Inspirational Poster."

Email me if you would like me to shoot it your way.

Hi Adam,
Are you familiar with Victory Drive in Savannah?
You are either going to come to Savannah from highway 17 or I95, I would imagine. If you take highway 17, it will take you over the Talmadge bridge and dump you onto Oglethorpe Ave. You can follow Oglethorpe Ave for a few blocks and turn right onto Whittaker (which is a one way street). Whittaker ends on Victory drive.
Follow Victory Drive a couple of miles until you reach Skidaway Ave. Turn left on Skidaway Ave. Shortly afterward, Skidaway will fork. To the left Skidaway will continue. To the right, Pennsylvania will begin. Veer to the right and onto Pennsylvania.
Follow Pennsylvania and on the fourth street on the right is Tennessee Ave. Turn left onto Tennessee.
Follow Tennessee Ave until it ends - which is about a half mile. Tennessee ends at the entrance of the old dairy farm.

Please note, if you are there to see the prayer flags they are all gone now. Someone took every single prayer flag down. I've heard rumors of who took them down but it does not matter any longer. They are gone and from what I've heard there are a few people that do not want them back.
Thanks for your interest in the df.
peace,
dh

Thank you, Victoria!
No, I haven't gotten my sweet medal yet. Do I need to call someone about that?

I'm definitely up for some more bridge running and cake afterward! Perhaps, we should wait for the new year and set up a meet up bi-monthly running group? With one of the meet ups we could do some speed training. With the other we could run the bridge and then eat cake and drink coffee.

I look forward to future running with you and the twitter gang! #runsav! :)
