Rough Runners Race Series

Rough Runners Race Series

The Rough Runners Race Series is broken down into two components.

First component, who ever accumulates 100 miles running in R4R races for 2017 gets a RR Race Series shirt.

The second component is based on a point system detailed below.  At the end of the Race Series (November 19, 2017), who ever has the most points wins the series.  Awards will be given to the top 3 point earners regardless of gender.

Each race listed below has a certain number of available points.  There is a maximum number of points that can be earned per race.  Let’s take for example the first race listed below, – Rogue Resolution Fatass 50k/25k.  That race took place on January 14th.  If you ran and completed the 50k you will have earned 5 points.  If you placed in that race you will have earned some more points depending on what your place was.

Lets use Bren Tompkins as an example.  Bren won overall for the 50k, okay?  He gets 5 points for finishing the 50k plus he gets 5 extra points for winning overall.  So, his take home for this race was the maximum points – 10 points.  So far, he’s the leader.

Now, let’s look at second place for the 50k.  Chad Frederick finished second for the 50k.  He gets 5 points for finishing the 50k and gets 2.5 extra points for finishing second overall.  He has 7.5 points.   Chad is also registered for DFL 12to12 Ultra on June 10th 6 hour race.  If he completes his six hour run he will have earned 15 more points putting him at a grand total of 22.5 points.  If he wins or places for DFL he will have even more points!  Does that make sense now?

If so, scroll to the bottom of this page to see what the awards and merchandise you have a shot at earning for this race series and, what the Race Series Scorecard is so far.

It’s all great stuff assure you!

I’m a huge fan of Arcteryx and Orange Mud gear.  This gear has proven itself to me time and time again.  It’s expensive gear but so very worth it!  This gear can make the difference between a great race and a suffer fest.  Being a mountain climber as well as a runner, Arcteryx gear has proven a life saver.
